The main criteria is that your recipe contains only real food - no processed, boxed mixes, or chemical additives. For example, no instant pudding mix, no cake mixes, no refrigerator rolls in a can, no gravy mixes, canned soup, etc. Of course, we don't expect you to make your own mayo, ketchup, or mustard or grind your own grains and such. Although that is an option if you want to submit a how to for those things.

Watermelon Salad

Dressing

1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon Tabasco

½ teaspoon pepper

 

Salad

One 8-pound seedless watermelon

½ pound (2 cups) feta cheese, crumbled

Half small red onion thinly sliced.

1 cup coarsely chopped mint leaves

 

Cut watermelon into 1” chunks. Then add feta, red onion and mint leaves. Mix and store in refrigerator.

 

For making dressing whisk together the oil, lemon juice, salt, Tabasco and pepper. Add dressing to salad just before serving.

 

 

 

Sathya's Chai Tea

1 serving

Ingredients

Per Cup:

10 ounces Spring or filtered water

3 Whole cloves

4 Whole cardamom

4 Black peppercorns

1 3" Stick cinnamon

1 1" slice Fresh ginger

¼ teaspoon Black tea, regular or decaf

Milk, soy milk, or almond milk

 

Method

Simmer, covered, all ingredients except black tea and milk for 10-15 minutes.

Add black tea.

Filter.

Add milk, soy milk, or almond milk (unsweetened).

 

It will keep in refrigerator for about a week.

Serve hot or cold
